About Me

My name is Lauren Ward and I am the creator of Looking4WARD2Math. 

I taught third grade math in Massachusetts for 9 years. I currently live in Upstate New York with my husband, two daughters and Yellow Lab! I have decided to step away from the classroom and stay home with my daughters. 

Many of my experiences in the classroom have lead to creating this website. I think being a parent and being a teacher are two TOUGH jobs. As a teacher, many parents would reach out and express their frustration with the "new math" and were stressed because they didn't know how to best help their child at home. 

Although my daughters keeps me busy, I wanted to find a way to stay connected to the classroom. My hopes for this website is to offer insight and explain/demonstrate math strategies that will support your student at home. I also hope to provide rigorous, relevant and engaging content that teachers can use in their classrooms.
